CLUB RULES 2024 - 2025

  1. CWAC Rules 2024 - 2025 

  2. The Club rules are designed to give our members maximum enjoyment and to uphold the integrity of the club waters. Anglers must always abide by the rules below. Failure to abide by the rules below will result in your permit being removed and only being re-instated at the committee's discretion. 

  3. To fish the CWAC waters, as of 1st August 2024, you must be in possession of a valid environmental rod license. The environmental agency will conduct their own check at their discretion and can fine or prosecute anglers who fail to produce a rod license when asked.  

  4. You must purchase a valid permit from CWAC to fish. From the 1st of August this will be done in person from a bailiff or from Widnes Angling Centre by cash only. Bailiffs will check if you have a valid permit. No excuses or abuse to the bailiffs will be tolerated, you will be asked to leave and will be banned.  

  5. Day Tickets are not available at any time. 

  6. There Is no closed season but, CWAC reserve the right to close any or all the ponds at our discretion to allow maintenance or matches to be held. Signs will be posted. If any member breaks these closure rules you will be asked to leave and banned from the club. 

  7. Strictly no night fishing. Anyone caught fishing after the times below will be asked to leave and banned for life: - Summer times 5am – 10pm – Winter 7am – 6PM 

  8. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a permit adult at least the age of 18. For safety and insurance reasons anyone under this age will be asked to leave if they are discovered fishing alone.  

  9. Please use the pegs provided and be courteous to the anglers around you. You may fish halfway between the pegs to each side of you and halfway In-front.  

  10. NO Littering. All rubbish must be placed in the bins provided. Discarded fishing line and hooks bust not be left on the banks. 

  11. Keep nets are only to be used on match days.  

  12. NO drugs, No Alcohol or Offensive weapons.  

  13. Absolutely no fires of any kind, this included BBQ’s. The ponds are in a nature reserve and any fire would be major damage. Criminal charges will be brought against anyone who is seen to be starting fires.  

  14. Maximum of 2 rods per angler (this does not override your Environment license if it only stated one) 

  15. Barbless hooks only to a maximum size of Size 6 for Carp fishing and size 10 for match methods. 

  16. Tiger nuts are not permitted in any of the ponds.  

  17. The use of floating bread is not permitted. Bread can be used punched as a pop up. Anyone found throwing half loafs of bread in will be asked to stop and or leave.  

  18. All Anglers must always have a landing net and an unhooking mat at all times. Specimen anglers must always have a 42” landing net at all times.  

  19. CWAC have a very strict catch and release policy unless a match is being held. Please handle the fish with care and return them to the water as soon as possible.  

  20. Strictly no swimming of any kind. 

  21. Strictly no camping at any time. 

  22. Strictly no boating at any time. 

  23. Rods must not be left unattended. 

  24. CWAC will not tolerate any abuse or anti social behaviour at any time.
